The Big Game is just a few days away. Viewers around the world will be tuning in to watch sports history unfold. Two quarterbacks, one at the end of a legendary career and another at the beginning, will battle each other on the gridiron. We as viewers will be fortunate to see the transition of power in American football as one era ends, and another begins. Oddly, something similar is happening in the advertising world.
With Coca Cola and Budweiser not advertising this Big Game, the latter having not done so since 1983, this has left plenty of room for a prominent company in sports to take the spotlight. DraftKings, a popular daily fantasy sports and regulated gaming company that has been around since 2012, is planning to run two 15-second commercials during the Big Game. These ads showcase how people can sign up for its fourth-quarter prediction pool.
This pool will give participants an opportunity to predict the outcome on different things such as final points of the game or if someone will catch a pass for more than 20 yards. The winner will receive $1 million in payouts while other participants have a chance to win prizes between $3 up to $25,000.
