Cumulus Media has tapped Veritone to provide analytics for its New York, Los Angeles and Chicago clusters.
The broadcaster will use the artificial intelligence-based Veritone Cognitive Media Platform to index and package audio content, transcribe broadcast media and measure advertising efficacy, to provide better information to advertisers.
Its radio programming in those markets is being ingested and recorded in real time; the CMP will help the clusters index, organize and make that content searchable and accessible in the cloud.
Veritone says CMP uses “integrated cognitive engines” such as natural language processing, logo detection, voice fingerprinting, facial recognition and object detection. The release says its approach creates “a rich and actionable” database and index. Additionally, Veritone Media President Ryan Steelberg says CMP will offer ad verification, content segmentation and integrated audience analytics.
